Rocky Mountain Saloon
Rocky Mountain Saloon has become more than just a neighborhood bar, it’s a gathering place where locals have made a community and visitors can find a welcoming crowd. Co-Owned by Winslow Taylor, the Saloon has been serving the area for nearly two decades, “We try to offer stuff to everybody, so people have something to do when they come in,” said Taylor.
“We try to maintain a thing where anybody can afford to come in here and have a beer,” Taylor explained. “Any working person can come in here and just afford it.” With a wide selection of drinks, from classic brands like Budweiser, Miller, and Coors to a range of IPAs, the Rocky Mountain Saloon serves up beer with a side of free peanuts and a bit of snark from the bartenders.
Beyond its drinks and environment, the Saloon has gained recognition through its commitment to local causes. It regularly hosts and supports charitable motorcycle runs, including a major annual event benefiting Make-A-Wish. “The Make-A-Wish thing is a big thing in our hearts,” said Taylor. “If you’ve ever been around kids that have Make-A-Wish, it’s a really good charity.”
Centrally located with access to key highways and a business-friendly town atmosphere, Taylor emphasized how the Town has worked with him and supports other businesses, “You’ve got a town that wants to work with you and community members that'll support you because they’re happy that you’re in the area.” As Mead continues to grow, Taylor sees opportunity: “More and more people are discovering this gold nugget that’s here.”
Friendly to bikers, locals, and newcomers, those looking for a good affordable beer, billiards, and even foosball on the patio can find a place frequented by regulars and people looking to have some fun at the Rocky Mountain Saloon.
