Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, the world’s largest industrial auctioneer, has a strong presence in Mead, Colorado, handling asset consignment and sales for large corporations and private individuals. "We do business with some of the largest corporations on the planet in both consignment and selling of the assets to those entities. But we also do business with private citizens and small businesses," says Clark Comerford, Regional Operations Manager.
Many people don’t realize Ritchie Bros. is open to the public. "A lot of private individuals don’t know that they’re welcomed in here anytime they like to come in and, if there's something that they're interested in, to preview and potentially take part in bidding," Comerford explains. Beyond auctions, the company also provides asset management services for large businesses.
Ritchie Bros. is also involved in community events, particularly the annual "Big Dig" fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. "Every September, we’ll have typically around 50 mini excavators and backhoes set up in our empty portion of our facility," Comerford says. "Every machine has an operator who works with a child to show them how to operate it. And we get to raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society. So it's a win, win, win."
Mead’s location near major population centers benefits Ritchie Bros. by attracting both customers and employees. "There is a high priority on being close to large population centers for us as a company," Comerford notes. As the Denver metro area grows, he expects more development, businesses, and housing in the region.
Ritchie Bros. continues to expand its reach in Mead, offering valuable services while actively engaging in the community. With the area’s growth, the company is well-positioned for future success.
