When Sun Mountain Automotive was looking for a new location for their auto repair shop, Mead, Colorado was an obvious choice. According to owner Ben Soelberg, “We were trying to look for something that was close to I-25. I-25 is about 300 yards that way. Really can't get much closer.”  Ben continues, “Being this close to I-25 made us a lot busier.”

The repair ship has been in business since 2011 and moved from Frederick to Mead in 2023. While being in the right location, the new space also allowed the company to expand, “It's twice the size of what we were in Frederick just gives us the opportunity to grow that we didn't have before.” Their Mead location has also attracted a new customer base, “about half of the vehicles that are here right now are new customers since we moved.”

Ben also comments on being able to enjoy meeting new people in Mead, including frequenting the surrounding businesses. He comments that both he and his staff love going to Mead Pizza Plus for lunch and working with the neighboring businesses to strategize on how to benefit one another. 

When asked what types of businesses would do well in Mead, Ben commented, “Anything that needs close, easy access to I-25 would really do well here. Being right off I-25 is just a big benefit. There are thousands of cars that drive by here every day.” In addition, the price made sense for him and his business, “Per square foot, it's much more affordable here, and it's still 15 minutes from pretty much anywhere.”
