Mead Pizza Plus

When Matt McNaney opened Mead Pizza Plus over 15 years ago, he didn’t know much about running a business, but he did know how to make a really good pizza. “I'm third generation doing pizza, so all my family had done it. I knew I could call them, lean in on them, ask questions, look for help.” The other way Matt has succeeded? “How did I make it? I showed up. I did the work. I did the work every single day. I did it with integrity. I did it with pride. I never complained”

When Matt chose his location right off the I-25 corridor and Highway 66, he knew that the area was going to grow in the coming years, but he also knew that Mead was the type of community that people were looking for, “We want that small town feel, the interpersonal communications that come from that. And the interpersonal relationships that also come from that are great.” He also talks about how the businesses in the community support one another, “Every time someone comes to my counter and has something to say, I listen. Every time that they have questions. I answer. Anytime someone wants to talk, I'm willing to listen, I'm willing to give advice, and I'm not afraid to ask for it either.”

The growth in the area has also had a significant impact on his business, “It's a growing community. I was brand new. I needed to grow. The growing community gave me the opportunity to grow with them. We pull from Mead, Platteville to the east. We got Frederick Firestone. And we also pull a little bit from Longmont.” At Mead Pizza Plus, many customers are repeats, coming in from the surrounding businesses, “We've got a business park around us, there's everything from retail to heavy-duty industrial all around me. My customers are people that are working in the area. They're hungry, they want a good meal, they want something that's done quick, fresh, and made with integrity.

In addition to this, Mead Pizza Plus also benefits from its location right off the highway, “We also have Highway 66 right here next to me. I get a lot of traffic coming in off that highway.” Matt continues, “When people come in, they say they've never been here, I'm like, "Well, you're here now. Welcome." I introduce myself, shake their hand, make them a good meal, get them on their way. Most of the time, I see them again.”

If you’re looking for a home-made style pizza, with fresh dough, sauce, ingredients, and pizza made with integrity, stop by Mead Pizza Plus. You’re likely to see Matt himself behind the counter, making pizza, talking to guests, and ensuring his business continues to grow.
