Milk & Spoon Cookies
Milk & Spoon’s beautiful design on their cookies speaks for themselves, so much so that owner Ashley Nicolaysen was able to start her business in Mead shortly after moving into the community by bringing cookies to her son’s school and posting on a neighborhood Facebook page, “before long I was just stacked with order. So for the last year and a half, and it just keeps growing and growing and growing.”
According to Ashley, “Starting a business in Mead is very straightforward. The city is extremely accommodating. I asked one question and the people down at City Hall gave me all the information that I needed and links and everything I needed to fill out. It was done in an afternoon, basically.”
She and her family moved to the area because of the access to a strong school system and big amenities, “Finding Mead felt like a gem where we have an incredible school system with great schools and so many opportunities where they're doing really innovative things. But we still live in a small town, but also have access to Denver and Boulder and Fort Collins.”
If you haven’t seen her cookies, we recommend checking them out to see what you’ve been missing, “Where presentation meets taste. I make a lot of decorated sugar cookies for conferences, weddings, birthday parties, any kind of event I've made cookies for it at this point.”
