Anytime Fitness

Nicole Grine grew up in Mead, Colorado. Moving to the area 30 years ago, she attended both middle school and high school in Mead, and when the opportunity to open an Anytime Fitness franchise in her hometown appeared, she jumped at the opportunity, “Having the ability to make my dream come true here, where I live, was fantastic.”

In what seemed like fate, with opening her business, Nicole also had the chance to preserve a piece of history in the community, refurbishing a building that’s over 100 years old and stands prominent on the Town’s main street, “I had a vision.” To make that vision come true, Nicole worked with the Town and the Mead Urban Renewal Authority, “the building was in need of a lot of repair and love. And so it was helpful working with the Town because they helped me navigate the process with Mead’s Urban Renewal Authority. Without that funding, this project would not have been possible. In the end, I'm really pleased with the outcome that we achieved together, and I'm quite proud of it.”

The community has already shown their appreciation for having a gym in the downtown area, “I actually was really taken back by how many people were embracing having a new business downtown, having an option at fitness in our city, instead of having to drive 20, 30 minutes somewhere else. They were actually really great about it. I felt supported by the town of Mead. People in the community were behind it, checking up on updates. By the time we opened, we already had a couple hundred members that had pre-registered, and so that was really, really cool.”

Nicole knows there are just further improvements to come, “Being in Mead, what I would really love to see happen in the downtown area next to my businesses is a lot of shops and places that we can go and spend a Saturday afternoon.” She also notes that growing up here, she’s happy to give the same experience to her kids, “It is a great place to live. For me, it's the aspect of knowing that my kids are safe. They've got a lot of opportunities to thrive here. The schools are fantastic. The town does a really good job of making sure we have parks, we have trails that connect them all so they can go out, ride their bikes, and walk to their friend's house. And I don't worry.”
