Our Top Economic Development Wins in 2023

We’ve had a great year in Mead, Colorado, celebrating both big and small wins for the community, businesses, and the future of Mead. As 2023 ends and 2024 is knocking on our doors, we’re looking back at some of our top economic development wins for the year and some of the projects we’re excited about in the new year. 

1. Construction and Development at the Elevation 25 Industrial Development and the Access 25 Logistics Park

If you haven’t heard of Elevation 25 Industrial Development or Access 25 Business Park, you’ve likely seen both while driving down I-25. The two large properties are primed to welcome manufacturers, distributors, and businesses who are zoned for light industrial. 


Elevation 25 represents a million-square-foot industrial development located in Mead, Colorado. Construction started in 2022, and we’ve seen further developments in 2023. The land is primed for those seeking warehouse space with abundant workforce recruitment capabilities. 


Access 25 saw a Home Depot Distribution center open in 2023 and a park available for lease or build-to-suit in Mead, Colorado. The land includes 300 acres planned for development and is well suited for distribution centers thanks to its proximity to CR 34 and I-25 with rail access. We’re excited to see what’s to come for this property in 2024!

2. A New Life for the 234 Main Street Building in Downtown

Our Main Street saw a big win this year with the three-story building in downtown at 234 Main Street sold in May of 2023 to new ownership. The new owners have already begun moving forward with repairs, permitting, and plans for 2024. Keep an eye out for when space is available to lease to new businesses in the coming year!

3. Welcome to Mead Agfinity!

After breaking ground in May of 2022, the Agfinity Convenience store held a grand opening event in Mead just one year later! The location includes retail space, a Cenex® branded fuel station, and select cooperative services and products. The new retail location was built on Agfinity property in the heart of downtown and is already a favorite of locals!

Exciting things to come in 2024

While we’re excited about everything accomplished in 2023 (and we didn’t even have the chance to list it all), we’re already anticipating the significant developments and changes slated for 2024. A couple that we’ll be celebrating as we come into the new year include: 

  • QuikTrip, which includes several public improvement projects! Keep an eye out for the grand opening in the first few months of the year.

  • The Town of Mead is starting construction on the new community center. The final design features an 11,000+ square foot building with a full-sized cross-court gymnasium, multipurpose/programming room, storage rooms, lobby/reception, staff offices, and restrooms.
