Fall Business Updates in Mead
As the weather gets cooler and the leaves start changing colors, our businesses are staying busy, and we’re seeing plenty of activity from construction to expansion of facilities and more. Here are some of the updates you might have missed in our local business community!
QuikTrip is coming to Mead
Have you seen the construction near Highway 66 and I-25? The new QuikTrip will be opening soon as a new gas station and convenience store for the Town. The new travel facility will attract commuters along the freeway while also benefiting local residents.
The new development is also responsible for several public improvements in Mead. These include:
Traffic signal installation
Reconstruction of Foster Ridge Drive & Highland Drive
East-bound deceleration lane on Hwy 66
We’re excited to see this new development open soon!
Knuckle Puck Brewing Takes Home the Gold!
Congratulations to Mead’s own Knuckle Puck Brewing, who won a gold medal at this year’s Great American Beer Festival! The gold was for their Blown Tire Beer in the American Amber/Red Ale Category.
Knuckle Puck started as a kombucha company in January 2017 and opened their taproom in Mead in October 2020. The annual Great American Beer Festival is held in Denver and includes the nation’s largest beer competitions, with over 9,400 beers judged from over 2,000 breweries. A gold award signifies a world-class beer that accurately exemplifies the specified style, displaying the proper balance of taste, aroma, and appearance, and is decided by judges at the event.
Way to go, Knuckle Puck! We’re lucky to have you in our community.
Comcast Expansion Continues in Mead
Starting in May 2023, Comcast began its expansion efforts for their Xfinity 10G Network to serve homes and businesses throughout Mead! The new fiber-rich highway will create high-speed connections throughout the community, allowing for faster service of internet, mobile, home management, and more products and services.
At the end of July, Comcast was continuing its fiber installation in the Hunters Cover and Hunter Ridge neighborhoods and began construction in the Sorrento neighborhood in September. Connections should be available in the fall for areas where construction is complete!
