Sweetflower

Located in the heart of Mead, Colorado, Sweetflower is dedicated to creating a space for community. Founded by Carrie Sherk, Sweetflower is much more than a flower shop; it’s a hub where patrons can find gifts, flowers, plants, food, and even ice cream. “Bringing community together has been a focus of what we wanted to do and why we wanted to start this,” says Carrie. “We felt a little bit out of touch, and we wanted to really hone in and bring the community into us, and that was through flowers.”

At Sweetflower, personalization is a priority. Customers can order unique, custom arrangements either in-store, by phone, or directly through the website. Carrie explains, “I go to my suppliers and find those unique items that a lot of other florists or big, big box companies wouldn't be able to find.”

Supporting local growers is also a central part of Sweetflower’s mission. Carrie works directly with a local Mead grower, ensuring that her flowers are Colorado-fresh and not shipped in from far away. This commitment supports the local economy and provides customers with high-quality, long-lasting arrangements.

Carrie’s decision to open Sweetflower in Mead was deeply personal. “We came to Mead because we wanted the small town effect on life. I am a rural girl and came from country roots and moved up to this area to give our girls that same environment to live in,” she says. The close-knit nature of Mead, along with its supportive business environment and quality schools, made it the perfect fit for Sweetflower.

For Carrie, the opportunity to become a part of Mead’s growth is exciting. “Once you get in, you've got your foot in the door. You have a unique chance at being the first one in your field,” she reflects.

From personalized service to a genuine commitment to the local community, Sweetflower has already become a staple of Mead.
