Ziggi’s Coffee
If there’s one thing Brandon Knudsen, owner of Ziggi’s Coffee, wants others to know about the Mead community, it’s that they support local, “They will come out when it snows. They come out of the woodwork to support you. I just don't think you're going to find that in other places. I know you're not going to find that in other places. Because we have lots of stores in those types of venues.”
With a retail shop and their headquarters based out of Mead, Ziggi’s interacts with the local community both through face-to-face customer interactions and as a large employer for the community. Founded in 2004, the company began franchising in 2016. Since then, they’ve sold 188 stores, with many set to open in the next few years. “Our goal over the next 10 years is to between 500 and 1,000 locations. We plan on headquartering the whole thing out of Mead.”
Brandon and his family enjoy living in Mead with the community events the town offers and the convenience of the location in Colorado, “What's great about Mead is, you head south on I-25, you jump on the toll. I can be at DIA in 40 minutes, no matter what time of day. And it's really, really convenient from that standpoint. As far as concerts and football games and basketball games, it's the same thing. It's that 30 to 40 minutes, then when we're done, we can get out of the city and get back to our country life, which makes things pretty awesome.”
His number one advice for a business looking at Mead? “Get in now, get in early, get the spot that you want, build it the right way. And, if you have a consistent business with a great product, this town will go crazy for you.”es in this part of Colorado. There is a pro-business orientation in the town and the administration of the town, and it's a great place to live.”
